Ahave Education was born out of a necessity to more efficiently track student behavior and consequences while having the ability to effectively and easily include administrators and families in supporting students with behavior challenges. It is simple, quick, and effective. In those moments where you are struggling to decide how to respond to a situation, it gives suggestions while also allowing for flexibility if you want to choose your own consequence or response based on your experience and style. Ahave Education has been designed to be both structured and flexible while maintaining an efficient streamlined user interface for all stakeholders – educators, families, and administrators.
As adults, we know that all behavior has consequences – good and bad. As educators, we are responsible for helping students learn this critical lesson. And sometimes, it is a hard one to teach – because we are human too.
As a classroom teachers, we know how challenging it can be to manage and track student behaviors and consequences. It sometimes feels like you’re grasping at straws to create a logical consequence and have a restorative conversation to change or resolve a student’s behavior. In our classrooms we were tallying elopements for one student, screaming for another, managing a behavior checklist for a scholar with an IEP, and trying to teach math all in the same minute. We were writing on a post-it note which families we needed to call during our prep period or after school. It is overwhelming, and takes significant time away from teaching, building positive relationships with students, and creating a positive and productive classroom environment.
